Q1. I have a main site and 4 child portals

    ie main.com and main.com/child-1 etc

How many licenses do i need?

Q2. Can I run separate shops and carts on the child portals and admin these from the main site? ie cross-portal functionality?

Hotcakes Commerce is open source. You don't need any licenses. You can download it any time at the link below.

As for child portals, they were never supported in the past, but the 03.01.00 update is supposed to have added child portal support. I haven't tested it myself. Another developer added that feature.

As mentioned above, version 03.01.00 should have this feature available, so you only need to upgrade to it to use this feature. In full disclosure, this feature went this long without being added, because there are very few use cases where you should actually use child portals for stores.

I don't know what "tuts" means. Can you please let me know what that refers to?
