I guess so. But without the /slug/ bit in the url, the detail page remains empty...
As I read in another thread, this is a multi language (non english portal setup) issue.

Also: is there a possibility to contact you privately on hotcakes? (paid) development requests?

That's true... the slug is what tells the Product Viewer module which product to load. Without the slug, the viewer will display a message about the product not being able to be shown. Depending on the version of Hotcakes you're on and whether or not you're logged in, you may not see the message, but get redirected to the website homepage instead.
