We are pleased to announce the official release of Hotcakes Commerce 3.0.1. This maintenance release comes on the heels of Hotcakes Commerce 3.0.0, a major release where the product was made available for the first time under an open source software license. The primary goals of the 3.0.1 maintenance release is to improve the integrity and reliability of the product and create new opportunities for Hotcakes to be deployed in a wider range of environments.

On that note, we have significanty changed our packaging strategy in Hotcakes 3.0.1. Initially we offered only a single integrated "E-Commerce CMS" distribution package which included both the Hotcakes product as well as the DNN platform. Based on community feedback we have now decided to make the Hotcakes product available in two formats: as an integrated "E-Commerce CMS" package, and also as an independent Module package that users can take advantage of as part of their existing DNN installations. Both packages are offered under the same open source license terms. This new approach provides the most flexibility for users and the most opportunity for product adoption.
