Does Hotcakes Commerce in version 3 fully support the system setting "Use Email as Username" ?

I know there where some issues or it generally wasn't supported in version 1.

    Thanks

I would think that this is more of an issue with how you setup the CMS settings/pages for user creation... depending on whether you are using the core User Registration module or a 3rd party User Registration module, you are able to customize the experience... choosing the specific fields you want to enforce, hide, etc.

If you are using the core CMS's User Registration module, then the setting within Admin Site Settings allows you to make the email address the username. In that scenario, you simply make the store system only allow for checkout by registered users and direct users to the core User Registration module/page. Otherwise, the one within HC can allow for guest and multiple other things special/specific to HC... but if you first enforce login, then you can direct uses to the normal core User Registration or a custom one you setup.

This is a great question. In prior versions of Hotcakes, the checkout didn't necessarily fully support every possible configuration for login and registration. There were some very good reasons at the time. Now that Hotcakes is a fully integrated e-commerce CMS solution, there's a real opportunity to resolve this. It hasn't been done yet with the 3.0 release of Hotcakes, but we'd definitely accept a pull request that addresses this usability issue.

In the meantime, you definitely can work around this limitation with some configuration and viewset work in your implementation.
