When a customer finishes an order a New Order Receipt email is send. With that email we want to attach a pdf invoice. There is the VAT invoice template, but this is just HTML. Is there some way to send PDF's with the new order receipt? Maybe with a third party solution?

This is an interesting idea. There currently isn't any built-in functionality to allow you to add attachments to e-mails sent by Hotcakes. You can use the following support article to make this happen using the order workflow extension point. https://hotcakescommerce....ers-Programmatically You'd of course need to generate the PDF somehow as well.
