I saw this issue, also, in DNN9.1.1. I think its better to focus on DNN9 and above. Please dont spend/wast your time on DNN8.

There are a variety of users who are not ready to move to DNN 9 yet so we need to set our baseline support at DNN 8.0.3. In addition, due to the changes in the extensibility model in DNN 9 due to the person bar/control bar we have additional work required in order to make Hotcakes compatible. I realize there have been some suggestions to just drop the Hotcakes control panel and use the DNN 9 control panel, but this is not really an acceptable solution as the Hotcakes control panel is an integral part of our overall user experience.

Oh, Kurt, I highly disagree. Not only do we have clients which are on DNN 7 and DNN 8 and an upgrade to DNN 9 is not practical from a technical/cost stand-point (due to other modules and elements involved), I have some clients who begin using DNN 9 and completely dislike it! I don't think that they'll ever move to that new interface which is less efficient than the current DNN 8 that they have trained dozens of staff to use.

So while I can encourage hurrying up with the release, I wouldn't suggest doing that at the expense of DNN 8 compatibility.

Hi Shaun and Hotcakes team, any updates on the 3x update? Rough ballpark time for release that I could relay to expectant clients who are asking about timeline?

Well MooreCreative, I really like DNN9. But yeah, DNN8 is great. But I think its always wise to be up-to-date.
