    Is there a way to implement a custom shipping provider in HCC?

    Here is my scenario:
    We do fundraising for schools. Each school runs a certain set of catalogs and has some options that set the prices for the site. We are going to implement an option online that allows the supporters of a fundraiser to ship their products to the school for free. I would like it to show a shipping option during checkout. I know I will have to alter the checkout view to update the shipping address for the user to the school once the option is selected. However, I need to only show the Ship to the School for Free option if the organizers of the fundraiser want that option. I could easily do this if I can make my own shipping provider. But am not sure how to go about it and did not see any support articled on the support site.

    Shipping methods are not yet an extension point, but I've created a GitHub issue for this and it's been on the roadmap for quite some time now.

    In the meantime, you can still make this happen using existing shipping methods, but it would also require a number of updates to your viewset to be usable.

    Thanks Will! In the meantime, I have figured out a workaround. I added a couple custom radio buttons above the shipping method partial view. Then using jquery I hide a shipping option based on the selection of the radio buttons. This seems to be working for me.

    so we have a potential project that would need us to setup a new Shipping Provider for Canada Post... how is the idea of making a shipping methods provider looking? If you're up for working on that part, Will, then we could follow the structure and make a first new provider to add to the list.

    I could put Charles into the project and we could possibly also translate the existing shipping options into providers in this new structure.

    let us know your thoughts
