    Hi everyone,

    I would like to ask you how would you do this scenario:
    1. Client have four physical shops providing various haircuts as services and some additional physical products (as lotions and similar);
    2. Physical products are not the problem as that works perfectly well;
    3. What they want is to have all services (from all four physical shops) listed as “services” which will be promoted with discount codes; the idea is that clients purchase the service (in practically one of four shops) and basically print the order (of email notification) and come to the shop;
    4. As they are used to Hotcake, they don’t want some booking/reservation module (as they can accommodate clients coming any time to the shop) – but they would like to have it in Hotcake.

    There are few ideas of how to do that, but it seems kind of easier to add all four shops as “manufacturers”, then their services would come in as either:
    - products with no-shipping, practically as downloadable products but with the option to “download it once” let’s say, plus of course notification;
    or
    - to have some kind of “membership product type” where instead of duration the product would have to have integer;

    In either way, I can see multiple possible complications…..

    I would be very keen to hear of how would you all approach to this scenario

    Thank you in advance.

    Regards,

    Den

    Hi,

    Any thoughts on above situation?

    Furthermore: it would be essential that managers from each individual (physical) shop have to be able to login and see only their own bookings.

    Is it possible to do this in Hotcake or it would be better to instruct them to go for some other booking/reservation system?

    Thanks

    Den

    You can definitely do this, and it sounds like you have a good approach on how to do this. The only thing I may consider doing differently is using categories for each physical shop, instead of manufacturers or vendors.

    As for people logging in to see their own sales, this would be best done by either building a custom module to display sales for the respective shop, or implementing a SQL/report modules for the same purpose.

    Thank you Will.

    I did indeed figured out that categories approach is the best one.

    I have to be honest I am struggling a bit with presenting people sale to them, but will try what you have suggested – that seems much better approach.

    On that note, I have been trying to take opportunity of “catalog manager” and “orders and customers manager” (as per documentation) – but I am not able to do anything in particular. The reason is that nothing is happening with these security roles – although done correctly (in what I am pretty much sure).

    This is related to “role administration” of course; in practice I have created security roles on the site level, have “users” in that role, but not quite sure that they can “do or see anything”.

    And finally, host of course “see and do everything” – but is there any simple way to give site’s admin lets say option to add products too?

    Saying this as admin (it seems by default) can see only “dashboard”, “admin” and “settings” main backoffice pages (and belonging daughters).

    Thanks once more – greatly appreciated.

    PS. This is one excellent module – ready to use out from the box.

    Would you mind creating a new forum thread for this new discussion? Thanks in advance. :)
