I sorted out the issue I import using Hotcakes.Commerce.Dnn.Web; and then inherit HotcakesModuleBase instead of Dotnetnuke.Entities.Module.PortalModuleBase using Hotcakes.Commerce.Dnn.Web; public partial class Splash_Categories : HotcakesModuleBase solved my problem
